Vatebra Tech Hub hosted One- Hackathon: Online Global Challenge on August 8-9.
“One Hackathon” is an Online Global Challenge that is commonly formatted in 24 hours style to bring out solutions for post Covid-19.
The purpose of “One Hackathon” is to discover new innovative solutions that can be adopted by the global industries and the creation of new startups. It will also offer the opportunity for developers, designers, entrepreneurs to network, discover, learn and launch an idea within a set number of hours.
Expectations from the hackathon are for participants to build a product, design a business model and provide reasonable next steps for the startups.
The theme of the Hackathon will Include:
- PDS – public distribution system for poor and needy. This could be around food, medicines or any other basic essential supplies.
- Recognising the frontline warriors that have emerged in the shape of healthcare workers, policemen, government officials and others.
- Blood and organ donations.
- Virtual education platforms/gaming education platforms.
- Open innovations around the handling of pandemics.
Application Start Date: 26th June, 2020.
Hackathon Date: 8th – 9th August, 2020 in Nigeria.

Team ALI
ALI is a Social Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) E-learning environment that utilizes electronic technologies to access world-class educational content in other to raise a new breed of global business leaders educated to global standards who can create jobs, increase income, and create value for their stakeholders.
Team Blood Share
BloodShare is a cross-platform mobile and web application that provides hospitals, blood banks, and individuals with location-based blood donors. BloodShare allows users to find health services near them with an emphasis on services provided. Users can find hospitals or clinics with blood banks, bed spaces, ambulances, incubators, or oxygen tanks during emergencies.
With covid19, we are allowing users to be able to tell which health service provider has the facility to treat or isolate patients while also being a medium for safety tips.
Team VidBot
Vidbot is a medical virtual assistant that uses AI technology to help people actively and conveniently manage their health, get diagnosed and access medical professionals for effective care anytime, anywhere.
The mentors who helped during the course of he hackathon include:

The panelists involved in vetting and judging the ideas include:

- Ugwu Jennifer – Community Manager, Vatebra Tech Hub.
These top three teams represented Nigeria at the global level. At the end of the global event, these were the top 3 Global winners.
